Measles cases are rising

Measles cases are rising in London, and urgent action is needed to prevent children becoming seriously unwell. Please ensure that your child is up to date with their vaccinations.

Two doses of the MMR vaccine can provide lifelong protection to stop your child becoming seriously unwell with measles. The first dose should be given around the child’s first birthday, and a second dose is given at around three years and two months old.

Anyone who has caught up on missed doses, however, requires another two-dose protection shot.

If you have any questions about vaccinations, or if you are not sure whether you have missed doses, please contact the practice for advice today.

The MMR vaccine is safe, with millions of doses given every year.
