Measles cases are rising in London

Please make sure your child is up to date with their vaccinations and book an appointment at the surgery to catch up on missed doses. Two doses of the MMR vaccine can provide lifelong protection against measles.

Measles is more than just a rash. 1 in 5 children with measles will need hospital treatment. It can cause serious complications and in rare cases can be fatal.

If you are unsure if you or your child are up to date with your vaccinations, please contact the practice.

‘Help Us, Help You’ breast screening campaign

NHS England has launched a new phase of the ‘Help Us, Help You’ campaign on 17 February to encourage women living in England to attend their breast screening appointment when invited.

Breast cancer screening is offered to all women every 3 years, while they’re aged between 50 and 70, and uses an x-ray test called a mammogram to check the breast for signs of cancer.

Regular breast screening is one of the best ways to spot a cancer that is too small to feel or see yourself – it saves around 1,300 lives each year in the UK.
